About Alisa Gibet
Alisa Gibet, born in 1979, lives and works in St-Petersburg. She has graduated from the Ioganson’s art college at I.E. Repin Institute for Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (in the studio of restoration of M Devyatov) and is a member of the Russian Artists Union.
Gibets main subjects are the female body of which she wishes to capture the grace and the mystery with a classical structure and an impressionist use of colour and light. She is fascinated by “the sculptural qualities of the human body” although portraits have also been an important part of her work. Furthermore, she has a passion for ballet dancers, having been used to the Russian Ballet.
